Below is a sample of some of my work during my time working for 478 Creative. The 478 brand mostly included art pieces with a somewhat rustic feel dealing with particular places. At 478, I designed pieces for print, canvas, and metal signs. We had a large plotter printer that allowed us to print on specialty paper and canvas. Canvas and metal sign piece were varnished for protection and aesthetic after they were put together with their specific processes. At 478, I designed as well as produced and shipped orders as part of the 478 team. I also worked on custom orders from clients which could involve slight changes to existing designs or entirely new designs.
This piece was designed for print and canvas as part of 478 Creative's collection of collages featuring prominent elements of cities. This particular piece celebrates New York City, featuring some of the hallmarks of the Big Apple, such as the Statue of Liberty, the front of the Museum of Natural History, and Radio City Hall. This design can be purchased from FreedSoulsDesign in their Etsy store.
This piece was designed to be part of 478 Creative's metal sign collection. The piece celebrates highway 59 leading to Gulf Shores, Alabama. The piece has a beachy feel from the color and texture choices while also retaining the rustic feel of the branding of the 478 metal sign collection. This piece can be purchased from FreedSoulDesigns at their Etsy store.
The A1A piece was designed as part of 478 Creative's metal sign collection. The piece celebrates the A1A highway that goes through much of coastal Florida. The piece is reminiscent of an actual A1A sign but has some added detail, crispness, and 478 flavor. The piece can be purchased from FreedSoulsDesign at their Etsy store.
Below is a sample of some of my work during my time at Geographics. At Geographics, I assisted in designing and producing artwork, mostly consisting of prints. The Geographics brand has an old world feel. A special process was undertaken in producing the prints to make each print look aged. The subject matter includes coastal maps, pirate lore, etc. I also dealt with custom orders for clients, some where the Geographics brand aesthetic was requested and some that were unique pieces outside of the branding.
I collaborated with Rich Britnell on this piece. I drew the line work for the Kraken wrapping up the sword. He then transferred the line work onto Geographics' special paper and rendered the Kraken. The piece can be purchased at the Geographics Etsy store.
This piece was a collaboration between Rich Britnell, the Maritime Museum in Mobile, AL, and myself. Research was conducted identifying the most significant shipwrecks in the gulf of mexico. Dates, reasons for wrecks, interesting facts etc. were included for each shipwreck on the map. Shipwreck locations were plotted according to research. A legend was create to distinguish between different types of ships. My responsibilities on this project primarily included the research and digital side. I used Photoshop and Illustrator overlaying and editing a scan of a map hand drawn by Rich Britnell, placing shipwrecks in the correct location with descriptions, picking appropriate fonts, creating vectors for the different types of ships, and laying out the piece in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Versions were sent to the Maritime Museum for feedback in an iterative process. The piece can now be viewed in a large informative display at the Maritime Museum. A different version with more hand drawn features was made by Rich Britnell and may be purchased at the Geographics Etsy store.
