Note: Xbox was downloaded from Google 3d warehouse and inserted into CAD model.
This project was worked on in collaboration with Jerrod Windham, professor of industrial design at Auburn University, as part of my graduate research assistantship with him dealing with assistive technologies. We explored the process of 3d printing a prosthetic leg. Below is a CAD model of a design for a 3d printable prosthetic with a voronoi interior structure and an ankle printed out of flexible plastic. In working on this project, I used 123d catch to scan in a leg, Solid Works to recreate the leg, Grasshopper and Rhino to create the interior voronoi structure, Meshmixer to smooth out mesh STLs and cut the model into 3d printable sections, and Makerware to optimize files for printing on a MakerBot.
